OUR HERO- The volunteer fire fighter.
Our local volunteer fire fighter Mr Wakelin came and talked to us about his job as a fire men.
This is what some of us wrote after his visit.
Are firemen heroes? Yes , because they take up their time for others. They have to work 24 hours and 7 days a week. They have to go into dangerous situations. If they can't open your door they will kick it open. Lucy Are firemen heroes? Yes, because firemen persevere by trying to blow the fire out and they are heroes because they help people that are in serious danger. They even show the virtues to everyone in the whole wide world and they volunteer. When they can't get through the door they get an axe or a sledge hammer or they go through the windows and they can kick down the doors. Denise Mae
